In Warsaw, experts from all over the world discuss the financing of nuclear projects. The event was organized by the Nuclear Energy Agency of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Minister Anna Moskva, addressing the participants, said that Poland had already selected the technology for the construction of the nuclear power plant and was now waiting for obtaining valid permits.
– We are very determined that nuclear energy constitutes at least 20% of the Polish energy mix – she said. She noted that now the government needs to reflect on the challenges.
Cooperation required
The Climate Minister added that the challenges in the field of nuclear energy concern not only Poland, but also other countries, which is why cooperation in the field of human resources, technology and chains supply is necessary, but also in the financial field. dimension.
– When we talk about building a financial model, we are talking about building very good relationships and a very good model made up of institutions that have been dedicated to the project for many years. It’s not just about building a facility that someone will borrow money for, but about long-term cooperation and risk sharing, she noted.

Nuclear power plants in Poland
At the beginning of November, the Council of Ministers adopted a resolution on the construction of nuclear power plants in Poland. The first is to be built in AP1000 technology from the American company Westinghouse in Pomerania. The second nuclear power plant will be built by the Korean consortium KHNP.
