For four years, one figure has remained unchanged: the total amount paid to the clubs by the clubs FIFA. For the last two editions of its flagship competition, the body paid 209 million dollars (about 188 million euros). However, with the increase from 32 to 48 participating teams over the next two editions, the FIFA committed to pay 355 million dollars (approximately 319 million euros).

The federation negotiated this increase with Nasser al-Khelaïfi, president of PSG and the European Club Association (ECA), the main supplier of players for the national teams.
As expected, it was mainly European UEFA clubs that received the highest amounts. Manchester City, with 16 players participating in the World Cup, top the table and receive around €4.1 million in profits, slightly less than the €4.39 million four years ago.
