For the second time, the Economic Forum is held in Karpacz in Lower Silesia. As the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, we are committed to organizing this extremely important conference at the highest level and the previous Jubilee edition has shown that we have risen to the challenge. I am convinced that the presence of such a high-profile event in Lower Silesia will result in even more dynamic development of the voivodship and international promotion of the image of our region – says Cezary Przybylski, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The Economic Forum is a unique place on a European scale for debates and meetings of representatives of the political, economic and scientific world. During this year’s edition, many important questions will be raised regarding the most important challenges facing Europe, possible solutions and development directions for the future – adds Marcin Krzyżanowski, deputy marshal of the province of Lower Silesia.

Since its inception, the initiator and organizer of the Economic Forum has been the Institute of Oriental Studies, with which three local governments cooperate – the Lower Silesian Voivodeship (main partner), the city of Karpacz and the city of Wrocław supported by Wrocław Airport. and the Lower Silesian Economic Cooperation Agency.

The region of Lower Silesia is undeniably distinguished by its level of innovation and diversity. Its strength lies in the economic and educational potential, the infrastructure and the high quality of human capital. I do not foresee any obstacles in the near future, because Karpacz offers us excellent conditions and at the moment our cooperation is very good. Both with the office of the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the city of Wrocław and the city of Karpacz itself – says Zygmunt Berdychowski, Chairman of the Economic Forum Program Council.

Important discussions at the foot of Śnieżka

In three decades of existence, the Economic Forum has become an important platform for the exchange and formation of opinions, as well as a meeting place for political and economic leaders, as well as for representatives of the world of science and culture. During the conference, difficult but extremely important topics for the development of Europe are discussed.

The talks focus, among other things, on: the war in Ukraine and its consequences on Polish-Ukrainian, Ukrainian-European and Euro-Russian relations; possible and necessary changes in the policy of the European Green Deal, the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and related difficulties in trade and world trade, the continuation of relations between Warsaw and Brussels and ways to stop the rise in the inflation and fuel prices around the world.

Digitization and energy transformation – topics from the first day of the forum

Deputy Marshal Grzegorz Macko will participate in discussions on the first day of this year’s edition of the Economic Forum. He will speak in the panel entitled “The development of digitization of public administration and the need to provide digital public services”, which concerns the challenges faced by local authorities in the construction and maintenance of IT systems, cybersecurity , the impact of external funds and the creation of e-services for citizens.

The Economic Forum is a space for many discussions and debates. We will talk about modern digital solutions not only in business, but also in public administration. The greater the digitization of services, the less bureaucracy there is. This is why it is so important, from the point of view of residents and the administration, to have wider access to online services – he says Grzegorz Macko, Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
