Marlena is 41 years old, she works at the Kalisz district museum, she is responsible for the exhibition. She has experience battling cancer as in 2018 she was suffering from ovarian cancer. First the operation, then the chemotherapy, it took a long time to recover. The relative calm after long-term treatment was short-lived.
In May of this year, a nurse called and said, “Mrs. Marleno, we have to repeat the tests. There is something disturbing in the breast (I had regular exams, I was included in the program) My world fell apart again… Then it all took its course, more tests, biopsies, MRI’s and confirmation of breast cancer.. We produced an adventure program for the national audience of Vectra and Multimedia Polska “Offline. Survival Challenge”. In short, it was like this: with a group of six daredevils, we went into the forest for six days. We had no food, shelter or contact with the outside world. And in the woods like this in the woods, and the wolves, the ticks, the mosquitoes and the storm. And a great satisfaction that we succeeded. We survived. We have known well the charms of the forest, some survival tips, but above all ourselves, what we know how to do.
We announced the slogan “disconnected”: tmore than a program and more than an adventure. It is exactly what it is. Because now it’s not just a program, but real forest camps, also organized in winter for young and old, we take them to a beautiful forest near a charming NadwarciaĆski Landscape Park and there we help them to discover the nature of the forest, but also to know their own nature.
