Ability to respond to posts one of the many emoticons we associate with Facebook and Messenger today. Now WhatsApp, which also belongs to the one created in October 2021 from conglomerate Meta (formerly Facebook).

WhatsApp allows you to add a reaction. There are also larger files

Such an option on WhatsApp was long overdue, but it wasn’t until mid-April that Meta announced that it was launching the first reaction tests. The communicator then announced the launch of the Community function – that is, closed conversations for different social groups – for example employees of a company. Along with reactions, there was to be the ability to delete admin messages, the ability to share large files and voice calls with 32 people at the same time.

Now on the official blog WhatsApp has been informed that the reaction tests have passed and the platform can now make the feature available to all users of the platform. The communicator explains that connections are “a fun and quick way to respond that helps reduce the noise of information in groups”.

For starters, WhatsApp will offer six emoticons that you can use to react to comments from others. They are: Taste, Heart, Laugh, Surprise, Cry, and Ask. In the future, however, Meta plans to add more emotes to choose from, though it doesn’t reveal which ones yet.

In addition to reactions, WhatsApp also allowed users to add much larger files to the conversation. Currently, you can transfer files weighing up to 2 GB. Previously, this limit was more than 20 times lower and stood at 100 MB. Meta says that this will help improve the work of small businesses or students using groups WhatsApp for work and studies. These have also been expanded and can now accommodate up to 512 people.
