The autumn session of the Council of Europe is held in Strasbourg from Monday to Friday. Mularczyk – who is the vice-president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the author of the report on Poland’s war losses – announced that during the session he would lead a series of meetings during which he would discuss the problems of Poland’s losses due to World War II.

Mularczyk said the series of talks on the subject began on Tuesday with a meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, to whom he presented a report on Poland’s war losses and recalled that the government Polish had issued an official note to the German side.

Ms. Burić believes that this issue (Poland’s war losses) should be settled in the form of a dialogue between Poland and Germany

– Mularczyk said.

The next talks are scheduled by the PiS politician for Wednesday and Thursday.

In addition to meeting Ms Burić, I have also scheduled meetings with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly RE Despina Chatzivasiliou-Tsovilisi and the President of the Assembly, as well as with representatives of all the main parliamentary factions.

Says Mularczyk.

The leader of the socialists did not accept the meeting

Only Frank Schwabe, the leader of the Socialists, disagreed (at the meeting). It is quite significant that a representative of a country which often lectures on Poland, but also other countries on the question of the rule of law, did not find the time during the whole session to meet, maybe it will still be possible

– underlined MP PiS.

At the beginning of October, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau signed a diplomatic note on war reparations addressed to the German side. Earlier, on September 1, a report was presented on the losses suffered by Poland as a result of German aggression and occupation during World War II. They were estimated at 6 billion 220 billion 609 million PLN.

Head of the German Foreign Ministry Annalena Baerbock, referring to the note on reparations issued by Poland, said during her visit to Warsaw that “the question of reparations from the point of view of the federal government is closed”.
