Great Place to Work certificates have been awarded globally (it started in the US) for over 30 years and in Poland for 14 years. The whole idea is based on the discovery by American researchers and journalists that “the key to creating a great workplace is not a specific set of benefits, programs and practices, but building relationships of high quality in the workplace – based on trust, pride and camaraderie.” These relationships are not a nice benefit to employees, but key motivators that help increase the business performance of the organization.

Business leaders around the world have embraced the GPtW Institute model and methodology as a valuable way to measure and create great jobs. In 1997, FORTUNE (in the United States) and Exame (in Brazil), in collaboration with the Institute, published for the first time the ranking “100 Best Companies to Work For”. Great Place to Work® Polska was established in 2008. A year later, the first Polish list of best places to work was published.
