The candidates for the finalists of the “25 before 25” competition competed in five categories: business, social action, science, new technologies, sustainable development and climate. They had to present their achievements so far, justify their motivations and answer questions from the chapter composed of representatives from business and science.
Among them are, among others, Hugo Chrost, founder of the startup Solvemed Group, working on an algorithm to diagnose Parkinson’s disease, even before the appearance of symptoms. On the other hand, Zofia Kierner, a student at UC Berkeley in California and founder of the Girls Future Ready foundation, helps young Polish women learn public speaking and entrepreneurship.
Hubert Gross received, among other things, for achievements in the field of space engineering, such as the design of a drone capable of flying in the Martian atmosphere. Barbara Klaudel and Aleksander Obuchowski were awarded for their startup Medical Image Dataset Annotation Service (MIDAS), working on a platform for knowledge exchange and analysis of data collected in hospitals. Joanna Maraszek was part of the AGH Solar Boat team, standing behind a 6-meter solar boat, and she also transported solar panels to Tajikistan and India as part of an educational project.
