The death of Queen Elizabeth II is not only a great shock and sadness for Britain and the whole world. It also means a series of “technical” changes. For example, after the death of a monarch, all coins and banknotes bearing their likeness will be replaced. Of course, this will not happen suddenly, but there will be an official date after which they can no longer be used as a means of payment. Elizabeth II will be replaced on banknotes and coins by a new king – Charles III. Money will change the same way, incl. in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Postage stamps bearing the image of the Queen will also disappear, and even letterboxes could change. The pronouns will become masculine, among others in the British national anthem or in the annotations of the passports.
