– Where there is friendship, it is obvious that it is not necessary to meet in person. We work to prevent Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international events. We agreed to fight side by side to prevent them from competing – added Bortniczuk.

Gutcajt, a former saber player, Olympic champion and medalist of the World and European Championships, recalled in an interview with Minister Bortniczuk that he won the “Wołodyjowski’s Saber” tournament in Warsaw he years ago.
The purpose of the agreement signed in the capital is to carry out activities at the level of public authorities, national sports unions and professional sports clubs to develop Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports, and to fight against Russian armed aggression against Ukraine. and its consequences in order to ensure equal rights for citizens, the practice of physical culture and sport, the development of a training system and the preparation of athletes for international events.
The cooperation of the two parties should also lead to joint action aimed at increasing pressure on international sports organizations to exclude representatives of the Russian Federation and Belarus from participation in international competitions and the governing bodies of these organizations.
The agreement also plans to promote the development of cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukrainian sports infrastructure after the end of the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
Poland and Ukraine will continue their cooperation in order to continue the process of training Ukrainian players and the participation of Ukrainian sports teams in training camps and competitions.
