Instagram announces that it will start testing a mechanism this week that will allow users of its service to exchange Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), performing this task in cooperation with selected providers of this type of asset.
As announced, the company will not charge any fees related to the publication or availability on its website of the digital collector’s collection of NFT. Initially, Instagram will accept payments made using Ethereum and Polygon cryptocurrencies, then Flow and Solana will join them.
Users will be able to feature the tokens in the main stream, in stories, or in the news. Instagram announces that access to the tests will be limited to a limited number of people, but will significantly expand this group in the future, which will happen when it gets its first test results. This information will likely encourage Meta to introduce a similar solution to Facebook as soon as possible.
