The politicians received the Order of Yaroslav the Wise second class “in gratitude for their help in defending the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine during the Russian invasion” – we read on the government website. – The President honored our true friends, our brothers for their constant help before and after the war, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at the press conference.

President of Ukraine: “I am very happy that we have a great geopolitical army”
Polish-Ukrainian intergovernmental consultations took place in Kyiv, chaired by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Szmyhal. “Poland is the first country since the Russian invasion in February to meet the Ukrainian government in this formula,” government spokesman Piotr Müller said on Twitter. Volodymyr Ze³enski made the meeting historic for both countries.
– Ukraine has great respect for the nation Polish and the leadership of your country, we are grateful to you, said the President of Ukraine. – I would like to thank you for this closeness, this cordiality and this humanity towards our fellow citizens – he added. He stressed that the authorities of his country will do everything to bring Ukrainians back to Poland after the war residence.
The President also thanked Poland for the full support for Ukraine’s membership of the community European Union. – I am very happy that we have a great geopolitical army that has come to support Ukraine, which sees Ukraine on an equal footing among equal partners – summed up Zelenskiy.
Eight documents on various fields
As he pointed out Mateusz Morawiecki, the intergovernmental consultations in Kyiv concern: the continuation of defense activities, economic cooperation, support for Polish companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine, energy, food and transport security, national memory. – Recommendations for the creation of a joint Polish-Ukrainian enterprise for the production of weapons, military equipment and additional equipment will be prepared – the Prime Minister of Ukraine announced. – This will bring our cooperation to a new level and allow the creation of modern types of weapons – he added.
– Signed contracts and memoranda prove that the new level of relations that Ukraine and Poland have built over the past three months are development-oriented and productive. I am talking about eight documents signed today in the fields of energy, army and defence, cross-border and customs cooperation, environmental policy, regional policy, reconstruction of Ukraine and cooperation in the field of national memory – underlined Szmyhal.
