This month marks five years since Emirates and flydubai activated a strategic partnership and joined forces to offer their customers travel to every corner of the world. The shared network has grown significantly, allowing more than 11 million passengers to travel on more than 250,000 routes since the start of the partnership in 2017.
Five highlights of the Emirates-flydubai partnership and customer benefits:
An unparalleled connection offer within a common network: Currently, customers have access to 215 destinations in 98 countries, with a choice of over 250 codeshare flights. Emirates customers can travel to over 80 different destinations on flydubai, while flydubai customers can choose from over 99 destinations across the Emirates network. The most popular places for business and leisure are Kathmandu, Kuwait, Maldives, Tel Aviv and Zanzibar.
Common loyalty program: More than 8.5 million members enjoy the benefits of the Emirates and flydubai frequent flyer programme, earning 150 billion Skywards Miles through this partnership over the past five years.
Seamless connections at Dubai International Airport (DXB): Carrier customers can enjoy hassle-free check-in, efficient baggage transfer, access to Emirates lounges in Terminal 3 and flydubai lounges in Terminal 2, and reduced travel time with an extensive flight network. Emirates passengers have convenient access to 33 destinations served by flydubai.
Further development of the partnership: Emirates and flydubai are constantly expanding their offer, which means new opportunities and destinations for the 270,000 passengers traveling on board every month. Several daily flights to destinations such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Karachi, the Maldives, cities in Saudi Arabia and Tel Aviv offer customers even more flexibility. Both airlines continue to expand their networks, with Emirates having recently reintroduced flights to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. In 2022, flydubai’s network has grown like never before, with flights to Al Ula, Namangan, Osh, Pisa and Samarkand, among others. flydubai has also announced services to Gan in the Maldives, Cagliari and Milan-Bergamo in Italy, Corfu in Greece and Krabi and Pattaya in Thailand from 2023, as well as the resumption of flights to Abha, Ha’il, Hofuf and Tabuk in Saudi Arabia .
Ongoing commitment to improving the customer experience: In November, Emirates launched a project to equip 120 aircraft with premium economy class seats as part of a $2 billion investment. Taking care of the customer experience also means investing in new menus and balanced meals. In turn, flydubai introduced a new reclining seat in business class, providing customers with greater comfort on short and medium-haul flights.
