However, it won’t end with the fans. Football kit manufacturer Hummel released a statement on Wednesday. The actions from the Danish side, as reported by Sky Sports, caused such a reaction that the Qatari Supreme Committee (SC) decided to issue a statement about it, responding to the protest. “Since winning the right to host the FIFA World Cup, SC has worked diligently with the Qatari government to ensure the tournament delivers a lasting social legacy,” the statement read.
“For this reason, we dispute Hummel’s claim that this tournament claimed the lives of thousands of people. Moreover, we wholeheartedly reject the trivialization of our genuine commitment to protecting the health and safety of the 30,000 workers who built stadiums for the FIFA World Cup and other tournament projects,” retort the members of the Supreme Committee.

The organizers ensure in their announcement that the same commitment applies to the 150,000 employees of the various departments of the tournament and to the 40,000 employees of the hotel sector.
