Sergei Lavrov surprised by toilets in Sweden. “I didn’t believe it, but it was. You have no idea.” – Straight


Sergei Lavrov attended the annual Russian Foreign Policy Conference “Primakov Readings” on Wednesday, December 7. An international forum dedicated to the memory of the former Prime Minister and head of the Russian Foreign Ministry was held in Moscow. During the meeting, the most difficult topics related to the global economy, international politics and security issues are usually discussed.

Leading Russian analysts and experts, scientists, diplomats and officials are invited to the event, which was first held in 2015. Lavrov is a regular participant in the conference. The head of Russian diplomacy touched on many topics during his speech. He spoke eg. on gender diversity in Europe. He noted that there were already more than 80 in Europe and England.

At one point, Lavrov recalled a story that had happened to him the previous year at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Sweden. – Sorry for the details, but during the break I asked where the toilets were. I was shown a door marked WC. I asked if it was for ladies or gentlemen – Lavrov started the story.

“I heard they had everything in common. I didn’t believe it, but it really happened. You have no idea how inhumane it was, it’s just inhumane,” the Russian foreign minister said. Lavrov did not say in his statement if he decided to use the toilet no gendered.
