Except that:
- It falls on December 22 each year low people day. It has long been known that sometimes beauty comes in a “small package”. Today, we pay homage to those whose growth has been slowed by nature, and we emphasize that these are people who have much to offer the world. So let’s not get excited, but let’s respect everyone.
- December 22 takes place in Spain Spanish Christmas Lottery (Loteria de Navidad). It is the second longest organized lottery in the world and also considered the largest in the world (in 2012 you could earn 2.5 billion euros). This annual lottery has been held since 1812 – it even took place during the brutal Civil War and the dictatorship of General Franco.
- It is also in the United States today ancestors day. It takes place every year in the United States and was created in honor of the pilgrims who came from Europe to North America (although it took place on December 21, due to an accidental error during the passage to the Gregorian calendar, it is celebrated the next day).
- December 22 also falls math day. It was established in India to honor birthday the famous Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. He was a self-taught genius who had no background in mathematics, but his knowledge amazed the world. Its modular functions, in particular the so-called Ramanujan Function, are used e.g. in superstring theory. He discovered among other taxi numbers, that is to say an infinite sequence of the smallest natural numbers which can be written in n different ways as the sum of two cubes. Srinivasa Ramanujan was in very poor health and died at the age of only 33. In 1976, his box containing a 130-page collection of maps, later called “The Lost Notebook”, was found. It contained about 4,000 Ramanujan formulas. Some of its numerical dependencies, which most often give rise to new theories, could not be proven so far.
