A Russian opposition politician has called on law enforcement to hold Russian President Vladimir Putin responsible for spreading “false information” about the military.
“Our goal is not to fuel a military conflict. On the contrary, we want to end this war,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a speech on Thursday, calling the actions in Ukraine for the first time a “war” and not a “special military operation.”
The problem, however, is that in March new criminal laws came into force in Russia, according to which the dissemination of “false information” about the army became prohibited, and the services began to prosecute people who call the war war. He signed the deed… himself vladimir Cheese fries.
Putin accused
Opposition politician Nikita Juferov in response to Putin’s remarks yesterday, he decided to file a petition with law enforcement authorities to hold the president accountable for spreading false information.
Yuferov knows that his candidacy will not be considered, but he submitted it anyway to denounce the “hypocrisy” of the system.
“It was important for me to do this because I wanted to draw attention to the contradiction and the injustice of these laws which he (Putin – ed.) accepts and signs, but which he does not respect himself- same,” Yuferov told Reuters.
“I think the more it is talked about, the more people will doubt its honesty, its infallibility, and the less support it will have,” he added.
This is another request of this type
Yuferov had previously made similar demands regarding the first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration Sergei Kirienko and a close ally of Putin Sergei Mironovawho also used the word “war”.
However, the police informed him that they had investigated Kiriyenko’s case, but according to them, he had not committed any crime, and in Mironov’s case, they even refused to accept the report.
The opponent claimed that after posting the message about the Putin app, he received hundreds of hateful messages. However, he hopes that the Russians will finally understand what is happening in Ukraine.
