World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt 2022 (10/12/2022). Poland did not play a major role

Polish women’s ski jumping lags behind world leaders, so our national team had no chance of success in World Cup competitions in mixed doubles. Nicole Konderla jumped well, but Kinga Rajda was very weak and it was very difficult to recover from this loss.

Piotr Żyła and Dawid Kubacki completed their tasks, but you could count on them. Poland qualified for the final series from eighth place and held that position until the final series. Kubacki’s last big jump allowed our team to overtake the Finns and finish the competition in seventh position. The competition ended with victory for Austria ahead of Norway and Germany.

World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt 2022 (December 9, 2022). Kubacki showed a flash!

Dawid Kubacki took second place in Friday’s competition in Titisee-Neustadt, because in the second round he made a big leap over 144 meters and fell from fifth place.

Friday’s first round of competition in Titisee-Neustadt was not a fair one. After 30 jumps, the conditions completely deteriorated, the wind died down, which was very important considering the weak inrun. The competitors had big problems and the jury reacted very slowly, so the jumpers were eliminated one by one.

Kamil Stoch was among the unlucky, but also Jan Hoerl (Austria), Andreas Wellinger (Germany), Philipp Aschenwald (Austria), Peter Prevc (Slovenia) and Marius Lindvik (Norway) were eliminated with him. Other great players have advanced, but in very distant places. There was no definite decision by the jury to raise the inrun quickly, which resulted in the elimination of competitors who had no chance of flying.

Halvor Egner Granerud and Anze Lanisek did a great job as the Norwegian leads ahead of the Slovenian. Fifth place is occupied by Dawid Kubacki and ninth by Piotr Żyła. The second series will also feature Paweł Wąsek and Aleksander Zniszczoł.

In the second series, Kubacki showed claw and high form. The pole flew 144 meters and it was the longest jump in this series. He lost to Slovenian Anze Lanisk by just 1.3 points. Piotr Żyła also made a very good jump and went from ninth to sixth place. Paweł Wąsek finished the competition in 14th place and Aleksander Zniszczoł in 29th place.
