ENGELBERG Ski Jump RESULTS. World Cup in Engelberg, December 17-18, 2022. Saturday’s competition was won by Slovenian Anze Lanisek, followed by Dawid Kubacki and Piotr Żyła. Dawid Kubacki won the Sunday contest!
World Cup in Engelberg (18/12/2022). Kubacki won, and Żyła was right behind the podium!
Dawid Kubacki turned out to be the best Sunday in Engelberg! The Pole confidently won the competition ahead of Austrian Manuel Fettner and Slovenian Anz Lanisk.
The first series of competitions on Sunday in Engelberg was very successful for the representatives of Poland. Dawid Kubacki jumped 141.5 meters and is the leader with a 6.7 point advantage over second-placed Manuel Fettner. Third place is occupied by Piotr Żyła – after a jump of 139.5 meters – with a loss of 0.6 points to the Austrian.
In the second round, Kubacki sealed his victory with another very good jump. The competition in the lead was extremely balanced and Piotr Żyła did not hold on to his place on the podium, eventually taking third place. However, the differences were not great, as he lost to the third Lanisk by 1.4 points, that is, by less than a meter. The excellent form of Kubacki and Żyła can only make us happy and it is a fantastic prediction before the prestigious Four Hills Tournament which will start on December 29.
The remaining Poles did not advance to the second series. It’s not the first time that Kamil Stoch, who is in great shape, can speak of bad luck, who got the green light to jump in terrible conditions, and also made a mistake when he came out of the threshold. His fate was also shared by the Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang and the Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi.
World Cup in Engelberg (17/12/2022). Two Poles finish on the podium!
Dawid Kubacki showed a big leap over 139 meters and was in the lead after the first round of Saturday’s competition in Engelberg. He was half a point ahead of Slovenian Anze Laniska. In the end, however, Lanisek prevailed.
In the first series, other whites and reds also did very well. Third place was taken by Piotr Żyła, eighth by Kamil Stoch and 15th by Paweł Wąsek, but with a slight loss in the top 10. Paweł also took a big leap, but he lost a few points for a squat on the left. ‘landing. If it weren’t for that, he would also be in the top 10. Badly jumping, Aleksander Zniszczoł and Jakub Wolny did not qualify for the second round.
In the second series, Kubacki jumped 140 meters and it was a very good jump, but it was enough to take second place. The best was Lanisek, who flew phenomenally at 142 yards. Żyła retained the excellent third place and Stoch eighth. It was really a very good performance from the Poles in Engelberg.
