There were no surprises in the men’s 4×7.5 km relay competition at the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen. As expected, the Norwegians proved to be the best, ahead of the Swedes and the Germans at the finish.
After only three changes, the Norwegians had a huge advantage over their rivals (over a minute). And when, before the last shot, the defeat against the leader, the Swede, running in second position, was one minute and seventeen seconds, it was known that only a cataclysm could deprive the favorite of victory.
Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen, finishing the Norwegian relay race, did a lot on his last visit to the shooting range to give his rivals a glimmer of hope, despite a total of four missed shots and a penalty lap he managed to keep enough time to not worry about what was going on behind his back.
In the end, the Norwegian crossed the finish line with an advantage of 20 seconds over the Swede and almost 30 seconds over the German. The Frenchman, indicated as one of the main candidates for a place on the podium, only finished the fight in fourth position.
The Polish relay team consisting of Andrzej Nędza-Kubiniec, Marcin Zawół, Grzegorz Guzik and Jan Guńka finished the competition in 16th position, the Biało-Czerwoni made fifteen errors at the shooting range, they also had to perform a lap penalty and therefore they lost almost 6 minutes for the winner.
