After the Battle of Soledar, the front temporarily stabilized again. It still runs along the railway line which touches the northwestern outskirts of the city. Further it leads about 1-2 km to the Bachmut-Sołedar-Siewiersk road. A piece of Soledar remains in Ukrainian hands, and Bachmut in its entirety. The Russians are exhausted after the fighting, the Wagner group was particularly affected. The figures of the prisoners she recruited appeared on the Russian Telegram, and although there is no certainty if they are true, it is very likely that at least an order of magnitude is correct.

Solar. Pyrrhic victory

And it turns out that the famous CzWK Wagner is not so small at all. Since September, she has recruited about 40 thousand. convicts, killed just over 26 thousand. (killed, incapacitated, captured) and 106 men are said to have left the service and been promised pardons. As you can see, almost everyone who can be recruited dies, if you take the numbers as close to the truth as possible. Nevertheless, the Wagner group probably numbers in the tens of thousands, and that’s a significant percentage of all the troops fighting alongside Russia. After all, this is the equivalent of about three divisions, more than many Russian armies (not in total, only one with a number, that is, an operational union). And we are only talking about prisoners, not “Wagnerian” cadres, who also died, were permanently mutilated or were taken prisoner, constituting the so-called irrecoverable losses.

If the capture of the ruins of Soledar, which is basically completely useless, was paid with such a loss among the “Wagnerians”, not counting the regular Russian troops, then in fact it was a Pyrrhic victory.
