These gross and net pensions are to be received by senior citizens from March 2023. This year, pension rates will increase on different terms than before. Some retirees will be able to count on indexation by quota, while others will be able to count on indexation by percentage. We also know how much the minimum pension will increase. The government has announced that in 2023 the pension indexation rules are to change. Some will be subject to quota increases, others to percentage increases. The guaranteed pension increase should amount to 250 PLN gross, i.e. 227.50 PLN per hand. The bill stipulates that people who receive the minimum pension will be able to count on such an increase. Currently it is PLN 1,338.44 gross, and from March 2023 such the benefit should increase to PLN 1,588.44 gross.

The government initially estimated that the indexation rate could rise to 13.8% next year. This information has been included in the draft budget. However, it is to be expected that ever-increasing inflation will cause pension increases will be even higher.
We can already say that the indexation of benefits adopted by the government has been set too low. Already after the announcement of inflation data from the Central Statistical Office, estimates appeared regarding the increase in the level of indexation – to at least 14.8%. The final indexation index will be known in February.
