This year’s list of the world’s 25 best workplaces according to Great Place To Work also includes tech companies, with Cisco coming third on the list.
Regardless of the place on the map and the profession, the expectations from employers are similar: an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. “It doesn’t matter what country or continent you live in. What matters is the trust that companies build among their employees. High-trust workplaces listen to all employees, innovate, adapt and regularly review the results of their actions,” says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work®.
The top three world leaders have remained unchanged for several years, although their order on the podium changes every year. The first place in 2023 went to the Hilton hotel chain, the second place was won by the transport company DHL Express, and the third is the computer company Cisco.

Top employers operating in the IT sector, besides Cisco, also include: Salesforce, Cadence, Thought Works, SAP, Atlassian, NVIDIA, Insight Enterprises and Service Now.
Hilton and Cisco are also companies whose Polish branches have also contributed to their success. The remaining four Polish branches of international companies that have reason to rejoice are: Stryker (8th place), Cadence (9th place), Hilti (12th place) and Bacardi (18th place). All these companies are winners of the list of Best Workplaces™ in Poland announced in May 2023. Five more Polish branches of this year’s global leaders deserve congratulations. These are DHL Express, AbbVie, Teleperformance, SC Johnson and Dow – although they were not previously on the national list, they received the Great Place To Work® certificate thanks to the excellent results obtained in the study.
According to surveys, employees of winning organizations come to the company every day with the desire and positive motivation to work. That’s what up to 85% of employees at companies on this year’s global list said. 84% of employees confirmed they receive support in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and 81% said their voice matters when making important decisions within the company. There is another indicator that is of exceptional importance for the image of every company. It is the willingness to recommend your employer to friends and family. In the winning companies, 88% of employees say they are ready. This is 34 percentage points higher than the global average of 54%.
This year, Great Place To Work® analyzed employee surveys from 10,877 companies, an increase of 28% from last year. The number of employee surveys sent by surveyed companies also increased by 40%. This is a sign that employees feel that their voice counts and that they have a real impact on what happens in their organization.
The entry requirements that companies must meet to appear on the global list are themselves an obstacle to overcome. The first condition is the employment of at least 5,000 employees worldwide, at least 40% of whom must work outside the country where the company’s headquarters are located. Companies must also have a proven track record of success, recognized as a place on one of five Best Places to Work™ lists: in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America or Australia. The final ranking – in addition to the results of the employee survey, which are of fundamental importance – also takes into account the number of countries in which the company has been recognized as a great place to work.
