As shown in the graphs prepared by Statista, it has been recognized as the most liveable city in the world. ViennaThe Austrian capital achieved an impressive score of 98.4 points, taking first place for the third time in a row. Vienna’s high position in the ranking is the result of high scores in the categories of stability, infrastructure, education and health.
Best cities to live in
The next two places were taken by the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen (2) and a Swiss city Zurich (3).
There are three other Australian cities in the top ten: Melbourne (point 4), Sydney (7) I Auckland (9), and two cities in Canada Calgary (5) I Vancouver (7). In 2024, the Canadian Toronto dropped out of the top ten in 12th place.
There are also Swiss companies in the top ten Geneva (7) and Japanese Osaka (9).
Cities are the worst places to live
At the bottom of the list are Damascus in Syria, Tripoli in Libya and Algiers in Algeria. Also in the bottom ten is kyiv’s Ukraine, which returned to the index last year after being removed from the ranking due to the Russian invasion in 2022. In the latest ranking, the Ukrainian capital ranks 165th with a score of 26.8.
The study is based on “Global Quality of Life Index“, which determines and compares the varied quality of life of the inhabitants of each city, grouped into five subcategories: Infrastructure, Health care, culture and environment, education and stabilityThe full list includes 173 cities.
