Oura Ring reportedly getting AI-powered Oura Advisor feature that offers personalized insights

Oura is reportedly rolling out a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature for its smart rings that will allow users to receive recommendations and insights from the chatbot on health and lifestyle topics. The feature, called Oura Advisor, is meant to suggest actions to improve health metrics and habits selected by users. It is reportedly part of the Oura Labs program and will only be available to iOS users who own the company’s third-generation smart rings. Interestingly, the feature was launched just a day before Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, where the tech giant is expected to launch its Galaxy Ring device.

AI-based Oura Advisor Reportedly Launched

According to a report from Android Authority, iOS users of Oura Ring 3 can now access an AI trainer from Oura Labs. Oura Labs was launched by the company in April and requires users to sign up for the program. Once they have access, they can start using the feature.

Oura Advisor is said to be an AI-powered health and lifestyle coach that users can have conversations with. Users can ask the chatbot how to improve their sleep, cultivate new habits, or boost their immunity, according to the publication. The feature is said to be fully customizable, and users can choose which areas they focus on.

The feature can also remember previous conversations to recommend contextual improvements or offer insights into queried metrics. The information is stored in “memory” and can be manually deleted from the chatbot.

A screenshot shared by the publication shows that the feature initiates conversations, noting that it can also access data from users’ daily activities and flag irregularities. The user can then ask for recommendations to improve the metric, and the AI will offer suggestions.

In his speech, Oura CEO Tom Hale addressed growing competition from devices like Google’s Fitbit and Samsung’s soon-to-be-launched Galaxy Ring. interview CNET’s Hale argued that Oura Ring stands out from the competition because of its data consistency, its new memory feature and the company’s use of multiple AI models.

Later today, Samsung is expected to launch its smart ring. It will be interesting to see if the company announces any features that could rival Oury’s AI trainer.
