accident This happened on Monday morning during the daily security check, before the opening of the amusement park. The 21-year-old climbed the 140-meter tower of the chain carousel. While he was about 60 meters high, he suddenly fell and fell about 20 meters to the lower platform.
Firefighters and an ambulance arrived at the scene. The amusement park employee was transported to an Orlando hospital. He died of his injuries.
“Every time there is an accident, it is extremely sad for us. It is a big shock for us,” John Stine, the theme park’s marketing and sales director, said in an interview with local television.
Ena Hillsman and her family from Augusta, Georgia, were planning a vacation to Orlando this week. She decided to take her son for a ride on the StarFlyer carousel before learning of the tragedy. “I pray that the family finds comfort in this situation,” she said.
An investigation has been opened into the accident. Safety inspection records from the Florida Department of Agriculture have found no irregularities. It is unclear when the queue will reopen. The ride, called StarFlyer, is considered one of the tallest amusement rides in the world.
