Volleyball World Championships. The second group stage begins

The second group stage of the Volleyball World Championship begins in Łódź and Rotterdam. On Tuesday, seven matches will be played in other venues, and the last matches in the Atlas Arena in Łódź will be played by Poles and the title defenders.

Rotterdam Group E: Japan – Belgium 3-1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:16, 25:22)

Britt Herbots’ 30 points did not help Belgium beat Japan. The match started unexpectedly, as the Belgians won the first set. Later, however, the favorites dominated, defending very well and making fewer mistakes than their opponents. The most successful of the Japanese team were Mayu Ishikawa and Kotona Hayashi – 16 points each.

The Italians lost for the first time in the tournament. The game was extremely tight, and both teams were shining stars: Paola Egonu and Gabi. In the middle of the set, the Germans managed to take a slight advantage, but in the end it was the Turks who took the lead, which allowed them to end this match with a victory. The course of the second set was very similar, the volleyball players from Turkey started it a little less well, but at the crucial moment they rallied to fight.
