Robert Lewandowski is the only player in the Bundesliga to receive an annual salary above 20 million euros. The Pole’s salary, however, is far behind other football stars. According to the ranking of the Spanish daily “Marc”, no less than nine players earn more than Lewy. Discover the TOP 10 highest paid footballers in the world! “Marca” has created a ranking of salaries of footballers
Lewandowski worked for years for his position at the German giants. He joined the Munich club in 2014 and initially earned €11m per season. Two years later, he obtained a raise which guaranteed him a salary of 15 million euros. He last renewed his contract in 2019. He later extended it until June 2023. According to ‘Marki’, Lewy currently earns 23 million euros per year.
This is of course Bayern’s highest salary. Manuel Neuer, Thomas Mueller and Joshua Kimmich each receive 20 million euros. However, Lewandowski is a long way from winning Paris Saint-Germain stars. Neymar earns almost 50 million euros a year and Lionel Messi more than 40 million.
Robert Lewandowski even supports Hazard
In at least two cases, the amount of salary does not go hand in hand with a guarantee of quality or even status in the team. Since Lewandowski, the best footballer in the world by FIFA in 2021, and second in the Ballon d’Or poll, Real Madrid reserve Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard have earned a lot more money.
It’s no secret that Lewandowski is tempted by Barcelona. According to the latest information from German daily ‘Bild’, Blaugrana can offer him more for the season than Bayern – a maximum of 30 million euros. If these rumors are true, then a pile of salaries for the Polish sniper should be created. Currently, Sergio Busquets is the highest paid at the Catalunya club, earning the same salary as Lewy in Munich.
Lewandowski and Bayern are far from agreed on a new deal. Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic recently met with Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi but no details have been announced. The Pole wants a two-year contract extension and a salary increase. Bayern rule out this possibility.
