He is not originally from the Loire, but in heart and soul. Laurent Jacquet is a jack-of-all-trades from plumbing to television. A lover of DIY, the man born in the Rhône department has recently seen his life change. However, nothing suggested such a future: after the 3e, while he wants to move into carpentry, he discovers that he is allergic to wood dust. But his passion then led him to convert to plumbing. At the age of only 23, he decided to start as an independent craftsman and was very successful: his small business grew. In the 2010s, his eagerness to learn led him to train in solar energy. At the same time, the father of the family is known thanks to DIY videos that he publishes on YouTube. His channel, LJVS (Video show by Laurent Jacquet), now has over 320,000 subscribers. From Feurs he gives renovation advice in a light and understandable tone. He is not particularly hesitant to put himself on stage and is eager to introduce materials, tools and techniques to novices as well as professionals. With sometimes more than a million views on his videos and faced with the growing interest of the French in renovation, the craftsman was chosen at the beginning of this year by the television channel M6 for his new program Mission Travaux, my house is a construction site.
At the age of 41, it is with more than 25 years of experience that he “comes to the aid” of families to help them complete their work. The successful first program broadcast on February 1 attracted 2.17 million viewers. For the second season, broadcast on the evening of December 12, Laurent Jacquet is accompanied by Stéphane Plaza, the presenter of House for sale and the search for apartments or houses. The latter, one of the favorite animators of the French, adds a real estate dimension to the concept. The adventure does not stop there for Laurent Jacquet, as the craftsman should soon appear in new episodes and is also the happy director of a video recording studio in Feurs.
