The American company ElevenLabs is the creator of the Reader mobile application, which, thanks to AI technology, will use the voices of famous actors to read books, articles, PDF files and other texts.
This will be possible thanks to a feature called Iconic Voices. Thanks to it, users of the application will hear the voices of famous Hollywood personalities such as Judy Garland, James Dean and Lurance Oliver. ElevenLabs announces that it has signed appropriate licensing agreements for the authorized use of the voices of many legendary figures of the Hollywood world.
The agreements include permission to use voices only to read specific documents. It can be said that thanks to artificial intelligence, the voices of deceased famous actors have returned to the world of the living. This is a new and exciting experience that was only recently possible. Imagine that in our country a historical novel is read, for example, by Władysław Hańcza, an actor with one of the most recognizable voices.

ElevenLabs has struck a groundbreaking four-star licensing deal with CMG Worldwide, an intellectual property rights management company headquartered in Beverly Hills. Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland’s daughter and heir to her estate, is thrilled. Thanks to AI, more than 50 years after Judy Garland’s death, her voice is instantly recognizable and reminiscent of many of the films she recorded, including a classic such as “The Wizard of Oz.”
ElevenLabs introduced the Reader app two years ago. It currently supports thirty languages and is used to create audiobooks, news articles, and video games. The company also offers apps for creating audio content for social media and advertising, as well as for delivering educational training.
