The EP is great – this is the motto of the national project KINDER Joy of moving – Alternative PE courses, organized by the Monika Pyrek Foundation since 2018. On Monday (November 7), the Monika Pyrek Tour came to Mielec, where for two days under the supervision of animators, students from Primary School 11 and Primary School 9 will train in extraordinary physical education lessons.
The purpose of the project is simple – to constantly remind you that I can teach, develop and follow physical education classes. Kinder + Sport Alternative PE classes are a unique mode of education through unforgettable entertainment for schoolchildren and physical education teachers. The project aims to activate the participants, to jointly experience the sport in the presence of an instructor and a sports star through the use of an interactive simulator of a specific discipline.
“In a perverse and somewhat cunning way, we will use technology to distract children from it, engage them in ordinary and traditional sports activities. We will show that sports are not easy to click, that something must be put on more, work to reach a high level” – Monika Pyrek talks about her foundation.
The aim of the project is to reverse the tendency of students to passively participate in sports (interest in technological novelties, gadgets, e.g. smartphones, computer games, mobile devices) by showing them traditional forms of activity sports, by encouraging them to participate actively in sports, using simulators which constitute an interesting and attractive novelty in the eyes of the students.
During each lesson, approximately 6-8 interactive stations will be made available. This will include, among other things, a basketball stand with the use of an interactive shooting training aid system, a soccer ball with a system for measuring the power of shooting, a VR stand with sports wrestling applications in the virtual reality system, a fitness test using an electronic reflexometer or pulling a rope using an electronic simulator .
Monika Pyrek is one of the best Polish athletes in the history of this discipline, specializing in the pole vault. He has two silver medals and one bronze at the World Championships and two bronze medals at the World Indoor Championships, as well as a silver medal at the European Championships and two bronze medals at the European Championships indoors. His collection is full of medals from European Cups, Polish championships, as well as Polish records, beaten many times (69 times!) and titles (5 times) of the best Polish athlete, “Golden Spikes”.
