This is not the first case of a representative of the Belarusian security apparatus fleeing the country. “Nasha Niva” recalls that since the beginning of 2020, many members of the security forces have refused to serve the Lukashenko regime, some of them have joined the open opposition, including senior secret service officers and of the Ministry of the Interior.
Belarus Opponent on Officer Escapes: Most Escaped in 2020

He also reported that in connection with escape attempts, many servicemen were imprisoned. “We recently spoke to a lawyer who told us that there were a lot of guards in the prisons,” he explained.
Franak Viaczorka: Officers swore to Belarus, not Lukashenko
Viachorka informed that due to the problems of the Belarusian KGB, it was decided to change the structures. Now the services are under the personal direction of the President.
– There is no shortage of people in the armed forces who are loyal to Russia and Lukashenko, but the officers who stand on the border with Ukraine, there are more pro-democracy people. Lukashenko can trust these people only up to a point. They didn’t swear at Lukashenka, they swore at Belarus. As soon as they see Lukashenko losing, Ukraine winning and Cheese fries weakens, they will change their minds very quickly and go over to the side of the democratic forces – believes Viachorka.
