In his homily, the cardinal said that people immersed in everyday life forget what a great and wonderful reality they were called to be. St. In Revelation, John revealed an extraordinary God-centered view of heaven. This space is filled with angels and “A great multitude, which no one can number from all nations and tribes, peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and the Lamb.” – Today we can recognize among them the faces of our relatives and friends who already enjoy the joy of being before God and who are waiting for us to join them – the Cardinal underlined.
St. In his letter, John animates and strengthens the faith of the faithful, emphasizing that the love of God is the foundation of hope. The Apostle prepares the encounter with God, predicting eternity, when all will be accomplished and revealed. – This is the horizon of our Christian hope! Holiness, that is, union with God and life with God forever, is the most important vocation of every human being, created in the image and likeness of God. Holiness is not just for the elect. Holiness is for everyone! – said card. Stanislaw Dziwisz.
Jesus showed the way to holiness, calling those who live according to the Gospel blessed. The cardinal said the “poor in spirit” put God first and not themselves. – Such a man – living in the spirit of the Gospel, imitating Jesus poor, merciful, Jesus meek, pure and humble of heart, Jesus restoring justice and peace on earth – such a man will receive the kingdom of God, prepared for us from the foundation of the world by our Heavenly Father – he noted.
He recalled the figure of St. John Paul II, who was a truly poor man in spirit. This is demonstrated by all the Pope’s lifestyle, prayer and service to the Church and the world. The cardinal said that everyone should be inspired by the attitude of St. John Paul II, to remain in the Gospel and strive towards holiness on his personal journey.
He pointed out that in the first days of November, the faithful especially remember their deceased relatives. – They deserve our prayer and our gratitude, which is the memory of the heart – he underlined at the end.
After Mass. there was a solemn procession to the tombs located in the sanctuary of St. John Paul II.
