City of Lublin: The “VolUNtary of tomorrow” conference will be held on Monday, December 5

Monday, December 5 will be the conference “WolONtariatTomorrow”which is part of the project “Lublin Volunteering”. Organized event within the framework of the European Youth Capital Lublin 2023 is aimed at current volunteers, people considering undertaking such activities and organizations offering volunteering. The organizers of the conference are the Semper a Frente Foundation and the Homo Faber Association and the City of Lublin. The conference will take place at the Ibis Hotel (ul. Solidarności 7) from 10.00-15.00.

– On International Volunteer Day, we will come together to highlight the importance and role of socially engaged people in working for others. It is also a good opportunity to summarize the activities that took place in 2022 within the framework of the Lublin Volunteering project. The conference program is designed to help us get to know each other, exchange experiences and ideas and celebrate together, he says. Beata Stepaniuk-Kuśmierzak, deputy mayor of the city Lublin for Culture, Sport and Participation, Plenipotentiary of the President for the European Youth Capital.

The event will take place within the framework of the project “Lubelskie Volunteering”which will result in the development of voluntary labor standards in Lublin. The conference will provide information on upcoming activities planned in the program and the upcoming premiere of an interactive tool for networking volunteers, volunteers and organisations. It will also be an opportunity for the organization to get to know young people who are active or who want to start their adventure through volunteering.

On the program of the conference there are meeting sessions between young people and representatives of social organizations and institutions in order to exchange experiences, ideas, history and acquire interesting skills, creating a common map of the world of volunteering, as well as by announcing the winners of the “Your password in the city” contest. There will also be proposals to express the creativity of the participants, such as a workshop on the telling of short stories (pitch) on social commitment, the possibility of recording your voice with an important message for the future and the design of individual pins.In addition, the Homo Faber Association will carry out two workshops:

  • “Stay strong – we discover our strengths” – a workshop on our potentials, powers and talents;
  • “Heap or shell – what does it look like in a team?” – a workshop to get to know each other in a group – what roles we have, how we communicate and how others see us.

The project “Lublin Volunteering” is implemented within the framework of the celebrations of the European Youth Capital Lublin 2023 and financed by the budget of the city of Lublin.
