Information on the bonuses provided for players and coaching staff has been provided by Wirtualna Polska. Taking them into account, however, it was not the style that mattered, but the result. And it’s the best since 1986, when the Biało-Czerwoni last passed the group stage and also stopped at the first rival immediately after (0:4 defeat with Brazil).
– Prime Minister Morawiecki has been in constant contact with PZPN President Cezary Kulesza and national team coach Mr. Czesław Michniewicz for many months. They talked about increased support for Polish football, but at the same time the Prime Minister indicated that the condition for such additional support was the promotion of the group, said Polish government spokesman Piotr Müller .
He also explained what kind of support he was talking about. – We want to support Polish football so that a special fund is created that will deal with the training of children, new infrastructure, new technologies in sport or issues related to the development of the Polish national team – added Müller, without mentioning anything about bonuses for players. “The emotions that have arisen around him are completely unnecessary,” he argued.
He also said that the amount transferred to PZPN will be higher than what was reported. Funds will come from a variety of sources. It will be funded from the state budget, but it could come from other sources, he said. – And it will be a fund over 30 million PLN. These are funds that are needed for the development of youth and infrastructure. So I can say it will be a higher amount, but as I say, for training purposes.
He mentioned the question of bonuses for players, specifying that it is a question of PZPN. – However, if the PZPN wants to make decisions regarding prices, it can of course make such decisions. This is the business of the Polish Football Federation, which also has its own budget, said the government spokesman. “In a way, it’s a bonus for the football community,” concluded Piotr Müller.
In this way, he did not confirm the words of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. “I can only say that I believe in you. You will definitely do your best, and we will make sure that if we succeed there will be a very good prize,” the prime minister tells the Polish national team in the video shared via the We Connect Ball channel.
As we discovered, during one of the briefings – after two matches, when the fate of the exit from the group was at stake, the coach told the players that together with Robert Lewandowski he had established the rules for the distribution of the special bonus, that the Prime Minister of the Polish government has personally promised to the team.
