European politicians see the need to claim damages from Germany. Mularczyk: RE – News Draft Resolution Created

“The ability to seek compensation for victims of war crimes is a fundamental human right!” – underlined Arkadiusz Mularczyk in an entry on Twitter.

The position of European parliamentarians

In the draft resolution, its initiators – 36 parliamentarians from Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Great Britain, Sweden, Serbia, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, France and Lithuania – point out that, despite the passage of time, the question of the losses suffered by the countries which were victims of German aggression must still “be examined and analysed”.

“Even today, the devastating consequences of the Second World War are felt by a number of European countries in many areas. Huge and often irreversible losses undermined prosperity and hampered development potential for many generations” – we read in the project.

“The issue of fair and equal compensation for the victims of World War II has not yet been fully and thoroughly investigated. Therefore, we believe it is necessary to conduct an analysis on respect for the right of all victims to receive compensation, regardless of their nationality, identity or country of origin.Special consideration should be given to those who have never received adequate reparation. […] True justice does not tolerate discrimination and double standards.
