Andriy Yermak reported that among those released were commander of the “Azov” regiment Denys Prokopenko and his deputy Svyatoslav Pałamar. The Russians also released the commander of the 36th Marine Brigade, Serhiy Volyn, and other soldiers who heroically defended the Azovstal Metallurgical Plant in Mariupol. Among those released are 108 servicemen of the Azov regiment, as well as other formations, e.g. National Guard, Police and Border Patrol.

More than 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers are held in Russian captivity. The prisoners are in dire conditions. Some people do not have access to adequate food, running water or medicine.
