Springbok scrum half Faf de Klerk has been embroiled in a very strange story following accusations made against him by a police officer. In fact, IOL reports, the South African international is said to have threatened death with a police commander in Stellenbosch on December 8.

De Klerk, through his agent, denied all these allegations against him, saying that at the time of the facts he was not in South Africa, but in Japan, where he joined after the Springboks’ November tour. In addition, the police officer claims to have seen him driving a Toyota Corolla, but his agent claims that his player has never driven such a car.

Faf has never driven a Toyota Corolla in his entire life. He left the country with the Springboks for the year-end tour of Europe, from where he then joined Japan and Tokyo to join his new club, Yokohama Cannon Eagles.
