Airbnb is a platform that allows travelers to find accommodation in many parts of the world. The hosts generally offer the rental of entire apartments or individual rooms. The vast majority of people used them in the normal way, but in history it happened that tenants party and devastated the place. Now, owners will have the tool to reassure their guests at the right time.
Airbnb offers free noise sensors
According to the platform, Airbnb has established cooperation with Minute, which specializes in technologies supporting property management. As part of this cooperation, owners of premises rented by Airbnb will be able to install noise sensors in their premises free of charge and use them as part of a three-month subscription. This opportunity will be available to hosts in over 60 countries.
As emphasized in the statement, the installation of the sensors will not infringe on the privacy of guests. The devices will monitor the noise level, but will not record calls or images. Also, hosts cannot place them in rooms. Each landlord will also be required to inform customers that such a sensor is in the apartment.
How does the whole system work? When there is too much noise in the apartment, the owner of the apartment and the guest will receive notifications that the allowed number of decibels has been exceeded. According to Airbnb, this system has already been tested in Prague. “We found that a compliance reminder could be enough to quickly resolve a potential noise issue. Hosts and guests were able to resolve 100% of such issues within 20 minutes of discovering such an event,” the platform said in a statement.
