Semi-automatic VAR technology at the 2022 World Cup

FIFA has already officially announced that the use of semi-automatic offside technology will be implemented during the World Cup in Qatar, which will be played from November 21 to December 18, 2022. This is an aid tool for official videos, but also for match referees. It’s supposed to help them make faster, more accurate and repeatable offside decisions.

Since then, in collaboration with technical partners, it has been perfecting this tool. Slot machines are becoming more and more accurate in evaluating football situations.

– VAR has already had a very positive effect on football and we can see that the number of serious errors has been drastically reduced.
