First of all, our players are getting different money anyway, and that’s just from the authorities of FIFA and PZPN. Secondly, there are really greater needs in Poland for health care, education and many other more important things for which there is no money. If there is no money for these bigger issues, the Prime Minister should make no commitments to the players. Especially since they are not world champions. Yes, they succeeded, but it’s not a world championship. A mistake has been made and the Prime Minister should honestly walk away from it, said Leszek Miller. Government and PZPN officials try to explain that the money should go to training, although other media – apart from Wirtualna Polska, who described the first case – describe discussions among staff about the distribution government bonuses. – All this is an attempt to confuse the clear situation. The prime minister should come forward and say, “I’m sorry, I made a mistake. This money is needed elsewhere. We end the discussion and that’s it,” the former prime minister said.
