Pro-retention workshops and discussions

On the first day of the event, interesting technical workshops will be conducted by experts in the field of law and consulting: Jędrzej Bujny from the law firm Bujny – right for an ekpsystem and Grzegorz Gałabuda from SID Szkolenia i Doradztwo Sp. z oo The workshops will cover, among others:
• Legal instruments for stormwater management
• Responsibility for retention in the municipality

It will be followed by a plenary session in which participants will discuss pressing issues related to the management of stormwater and snowmelt caused by climate change. The difficult subject of obtaining financing for investments in the field of water management and flood protection as well as their interdependence and the existing legal framework will be discussed.

Flood protection and water management – two issues, one objective

On Tuesday, November 8, there will be two technical sessions on issues related, among others, to the national flood protection program as well as European and global experience in this field. Experts will also discuss the issue of uninventoried discharges as well as monitoring, modeling and digitization in flood protection.

The second technical session will focus on issues related to the question: how to conserve water in the city? Experts will show why green-blue infrastructure and small retentions are the best response to climate change and how to design, monitor and maintain rainwater infrastructure.

The optimal design of urban communication routes, which are an important part of the process of adaptation to climate change, will also be discussed. Speakers will present the most interesting stormwater and snowmelt management projects from the point of view of agglomerations and small urban centers, taking into account the impact of stormwater on treatment plants.

Technical tours – knowledge and attractions

On the last day of the Congress, participants will have the opportunity to take part in two interesting technical tours. The first will take place on Świnna Poreba dam, where the following will be available to visitors: a control and injection gallery, a gallery, intake and discharge towers and a front dam. People who choose the second excursion will be guided through an interesting and modern tour Krakow’s green and blue infrastructure. The trip plan includes walks around Lotników Polskich Park (pond and polder), from Kieszonkowy Park to ul. Fabryczna with a rain garden and the Wilga River Park.
