Most often – 16 times – tennis players won the vote: a German Steffi Graf (1988-1989), Swedish Stefan Edberg (1990), Switzerland Martina Hingis (1997), Switzerland Roger Federer (2004-07 and 2009), Spanish Rafael Nadal (2008 and 2010), Serbian Novak Djokovic (2011, 2015, 2018 and 2021) and Iga Swiatek (2022).
Federer with five triumphs he is the record holder, he has one less Djokovic. The Soviet high jumper won three times Valery Brumel (1961-1963) and seven-time German Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher (2001-03).
