“Nationwide protests sparked by police murder Amini’s Mahsas are everywhere Iran. So far, at least 50 people have been killed and arrests of protesters and civil rights activists have also increased,” Iran Human Rights said in a statement.
He called on the international community to “take urgent action to stop the slaughter of Iranians”.

Iraqi President Ebrahim Raisi said on Saturday, quoted by state media, that those who oppose the country’s security and peace must be “resolutely dealt with”. He also stressed that it was “necessary to distinguish a demonstration from an attack on public order and security”. He called the protests “riots”.
Determining the circumstances of the protests is hampered by restrictions on internet access, and in particular social media, imposed by the Iranian authorities.
Secretary of State UNITED STATES Antony Blinken said on Friday that thanks to the US administration’s decisions, “tech companies will be able to provide more digital services to Iranians, from access to cloud services to better tools to increase security and online privacy”.
“Iran’s government has cut internet access to most of its 80 million citizens to prevent them – and the world – from watching the brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters. It is clear that the Iranian government is afraid of its own people. (…) In the face of these measures, we will help to ensure that the Iranian people are not isolated and in the dark,” Blinken said.
Iran. Protests after the death of a 22-year-old
On September 14, morality police arrested Mahsa Amini, 22, from Kurdistan in Tehran for allegedly wearing the hijab improperly and sent her to “educational” classes at police headquarters. The same day, the woman fell into a coma and was hospitalized. She died two days later of internal injuries. Witnesses say Mahsa had bruises on her body and her family was not allowed to see the body. Iranian authorities have announced an investigation into the case.
After the death of a young woman, riots broke out in Iran, spreading to around 80 cities.
According to unofficial data, at least several hundred people were arrested. Some protesters took off their hijabs and burned them in bonfires or symbolically cut them off Hair in front of a cheering crowd. The riots are among the worst in Iran since November 2019, when protests against rising fuel prices took place.
