The Germans specialized in apologies, knees, words of moral responsibility; a political decision is necessary for Poland to be compensated for the effects of the Second World War. Sooner or later they will sit down at the table, because we will not let go – says “DGP” the future deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk.

“We are right and Germany is a serious problem”
Mularczyk, who led the work of the parliamentary team for reparations, in an interview published in the weekend magazine “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, pointed out that the thesis that Poland will not receive compensation from the Germany is unfounded.
Faith moves mountains. I am deeply convinced that the issue will be resolved in the years to come – because Poland has every right to do so. We are right, and Germany is a serious moral, legal, political and, above all, image problem.
– said the future deputy foreign minister.
Mularczyk stressed that this case not only has a legal dimension, but also a political dimension.
Therefore, we cannot reduce the conversation only to the court which will decide it. So far, no international court has done so, so the case is open
– he underlined.
Yes, one way is to summon the Germans to international arbitration or submit to jurisdiction in the International Court of Justice, but first, a memo has just been sent, so I wouldn’t want to announce that at this point, and secondly, it is too serious a matter to deal with, for example, a Russian judge. There are different political and legal paths that we take into account
– added the future deputy head of the Foreign Ministry.
“It is not enough for a German politician to shed a tear at an exhibition”
As he added, “we are now reversing the process, restoring the proportions and starting an international discussion about it.”
We must also be active in the West. The whole world is watching what the Germans are going to do. They cannot refuse Poland without incurring huge image costs. I’m sure that sooner or later they will sit down, because we won’t let go
– He said.
The Germans specialized in apologies, regrets, knees, words of moral responsibility and the laying of flowers and wreaths. Unfortunately, it looks different when we move on to talking about specific facts. It is not enough for a German historian to shed a tear in front of an exhibition. A political decision is needed for Poland to be compensated for the effects of the Second World War
– underlined the future Deputy Minister.
