Play abandons archaic technology. Customers received a new proposal

The analogue terrestrial television signal was cut off in Poland more than ten years ago (in July 2013). However, some companies still provide their customers with an analog cable TV signal. And this, even if such packages have not been offered for many years. In the case of UPC Polska, the analogue television offering was taken off sale in 2013, but the signal is still provided today.

Play will turn off analog television in another city. He has a proposal for customers

Now Play has decided to accelerate the complete abandonment of outdated technology, of course thing digital cable television. Earlier this year, the operator turned off analog television provided by, among others, UPC Polska. in Katowice and Krakow. Now for Warsaw.

As he says website virtualmedia.pl, the Play network informs customers residing in the capital of the analog signal cutoff. This decision is of course the result of the desire to free up part of the bandwidth occupied by analog channels for the benefit of digital cable television. Unfortunately, Play did not provide the exact date of the analog TV shutdown. The company only noted that “a few customers” who still use analog technology have received an attractive offer to switch to digital signal.

The few customers who were still using it were informed in advance of the planned changes. They also received an offer to upgrade to modern digital television with decoder at attractive conditions, so they can continue to watch their favorite programs with even better picture and sound quality. The freed up frequencies will be used to further improve the quality of the digital services we offer

Providers who still offer analog television services are trying to encourage the last supporters of this archaic technology to change. In recent years, it has become common to limit the channels available on analog television. Play is not the only operator to have decided to gradually abandon analogue television. Vectra decided to phase it out last year.
