Polish cheesecake is the best cheese dessert in the world. This Vistula delicacy was appreciated in the ranking of the popular website TasteAtlas, where it beat its Basque cousin in the votes of Internet users.
Last year Polish delight took second place in the ranking of cheese desserts around the world. This time, users gave him credit first place.
The Indian Ras Malai and the Greek Sfakianopita also reached the podium. Other places in the top ten were occupied by cheesecakes: New York, Japanese, Basque, Hungarian rákoczi turos, the second representative of Greek confectionery – melopita and German kasekuchen.

Cheesecake is found all over the world different versions, and its origins date back to Antiquity. The first mentions of this form of dessert date back to the 4th century BC. This delicacy, which has gained popularity around the world, is also rooted in Christian and Jewish customs.

Poland cheesecake was supposed to appear in the 17th century, brought by King Jan III Sobieski himself. The Turk killer was supposed to enjoy the Viennese version of the dessert, which quickly gained its Polish version.
Today, cheesecake is most often served with shortcrust pastry. In the cheese mass you can find, for example, fruits or raisins – so often found in Polish versions.
