The media did not provide the names of the people who confirmed the information because the AP interlocutors were not authorized to discuss the case publicly, it reads.
Two people, however, confirmed that Lavrov was undergoing treatment for heart problems. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry was to be transferred to the Sanglah hospital in the city of Denpasar (capital of the province of Bali).
Media reports are denied by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said she and Lavrov had read media reports and could not believe them.
G20 summit with Zelensky, without Putin
Although the G20 leaders’ summit officially begins tomorrow (it will last two days), leaders from around the world are already arriving on the Indonesian island of Bali today.
In the spring, Indonesian President Joko Widodo invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the summit. Recently, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian president reported that Zelensky will attend the G20 summit, most likely in an online format.
In turn, on Wednesday, November 9, the Bloomberg news agency reported, citing “people familiar with planning” that Putin, however, will not fly to the top. On its behalf, Russia will be represented by the head of the Foreign Ministry. “The Kremlin is trying to shield the president from potential high-level tensions regarding his rampaging invasion of Ukraine,” the cable says.
