Rumeys Gelga, because it is the name of the woman who holds the Guinness World Record for the tallest woman in the world, recently had the opportunity to fly for the first time in her life. Airlines had to remove several seats so that Rumeys could travel safely.
The tallest woman in the world
Rumeys Gelgi entered the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest woman in the world. She got that title in 2021, previously, as of 2014, having the highest living teen status. The woman is 215.16 cm tall! In addition, she also owns the longest back, the longest arms and the longest fingers. Such dimensions are the result of a serious illness, more precisely Weaver syndrome. This condition causes accelerated growth, reduced joint mobility, movement and breathing problems and faster bone aging. As a result, Rumeys moved in a wheelchair. Despite this, the woman tries to lead a normal life – is a lawyer and web developer. He also manages his Instagram where he shares the people in your life.
The tallest woman in the world flew
Because of Rumeys’ health she could not normally travel by plane. Turkish airlines responded to her needs and decided to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for the woman from Istanbul to San Francisco. To make this possible, from the edge of the plane six armchairs were removed and a stretcher was placed, to allow Rumeys to fly. It lasted 6 hours, and the woman shared the photos on Instagram, while admitting that it was her first flight:
It was my first flight, but it certainly won’t be my last.
