The participants of the panel “Skills of the future. What are they and how to shape them? Do they meet the challenges of the modern world? “.
Participants in the discussion emphasized that programs and investments that use new technologies in education help prepare young people to meet the challenges of the contemporary and future world. They underlined that information and communication technologies allow the transfer of knowledge in an interesting way and help young people to discover their centers of interest.
In this context, the Minister of Education and Science mentioned the “Laboratories of the future”. He recalled that modern equipment purchased under the program is already available in 12 thousand. schools all over Poland. It allows you to diversify and enrich the teaching process, as well as to develop the talents of the pupils: – A modern school makes it possible to discover the talents of all the children. This is what the “Laboratories of the Future” are for – underlined the head of the MEiN.
The Minister of Education and Science stressed that the programs and commitments of the MEiN, as well as the reform of vocational education, are prepared so that the school can respond to contemporary problems. He pointed out that the combination of the Ministries of Education and Higher Education makes it possible to organize the whole educational process in accordance with the realities of the modern world. – We are able to meet the needs of various industries and fields – he summarized.
One of the aspects of the discussion was also the question of teaching history with the use of new technologies. Minister Przemysław Czarnek stressed that young people want to learn history, but in a modern way, hence the VR glasses in the “Laboratories of the Future”, which bring students closer to the past in an attractive and interesting way.
Panelists highlighted the change that has taken place in education in recent years. They emphasized that this is about systemic change, not individual actions. The modern multimedia equipment present in the school not only makes it possible to develop skills in the field of robotics and programming, but also to teach through experience, group cooperation or project work.
